HSRP Graduate Program Laptop Policy

All students enrolled in the HSRP graduate program will be provided upon request with a laptop computer that meets the program's technical specifications. A single non-Apple laptop will be provided to HSRP students while they are enrolled in the HSRP grad program and must be returned when they leave the program. The provided laptop should be used responsibly and primarily for academic purposes.

Students, working with School of Pharmacy IIT (SOP IT), must ensure the provided laptop devices are secure and regularly updated to protect sensitive information. Any misuse of laptops, including unauthorized software installations or activities that violate university policies, will result in disciplinary action. Private laptops will not be supported by SOP IT department. Since the laptop will be purchased with University of Wisconsin administered funds, students are required to return the provided laptop, no later than 6 months from officially leaving the program or the official date of graduation. All information on returned laptops will be removed following procedures used by SOP IT. Students must agree to return the laptop to the HSRP grad program prior to receiving the laptop. Students should follow university policy and procedure related to losing access to university services and data storage and access.

SOP IT will provide a limited number of loaner laptop computers for faculty, staff and HSRP graduate students for emergency situations and if needed for faculty, staff and/or HSRP graduate student travel. Loaner laptops should be returned in good working order and all data added to the computer during the emergency situation or international travel will be removed from the laptop upon return of the laptop.
