Learn@UW/D2L - User's "From" Address is Incorrect in Email Messages Sent
If your email messages sent from the Learn@UW application display an incorrect email address in the "From:" field (usually an old address following a username change), it is likely that the incorrect address is stored in the Email preferences.
Some (but not all) UW campuses allow users to update the 'Reply to' address in the Email settings of their account settings.
If your campus allows users to update the 'Reply to' address in the Email settings, you may correct the problem as follows:
- Select Account Settings from the drop-down at the right of the minibar.
- Select the Email tab.
- Change the address in the " 'Reply to' Email Address: " box.
- Press the Save button.
If there is no " 'Reply to' Email Address: " box in your Email preferences, your campus does not allow users to update the 'Reply to' address. Contact your local campus support to make the requested changes to your 'Reply to' email address.
In order to correct the 'Reply to' address for the user, the campus needs to enable the Email permission "Can Update the 'Reply to' Address in Email Settings" for the affected user's role. Then, an administrator impersonating the user can update the address in
the 'Reply to: field.' by following the above steps. The permission can then be disabled.
