System Settings

System Settings are configured by the Hamel Reset application, which should be launched before any other applications are launched. All applications—Premiere, Resolve, ProTools, will reference the sound settings at system level. But those applications can override system settings.

Troubleshooting

No Sound Output

All Post Suites:

    • Check audio output in System Settings. They should be set to the settings listed in this document—RedNet PCIeNX for Posts 1-3 | Red 16Line for Post 4.

    • Check audio settings in the Application so that it matches System Settings or uses System Settings.

    • Check samplerate in Audio MIDI Set-Up application on macOS—RedNet PCIeNX (or Red 16Line in Post - 4) must be set to 48kHz (aka 48,000Hz)

    • Check the samplerate of your project file. It must be set to 48kHz.

    • In Pro Tools, the Session has audio-mapping. This is configured in the Pro Tools template. If using your own Pro Tools session file, you will have to configure the I/O settings.

    • Do not use more than one application at a time. Having two different applications utilizing Apple CoreAudio can cause a conflict.

Posts 1 - 3:

    • Check the volume knob on the RedNet AM2 audio output device. It will also flash green if audio is present.

    • Check that the Mute button is not on on the RedNet AM2.

    • Check that the Adam speakers are powered on. They power indicator light on the front. Do not move the speakers to power them on.

Post 4:

    • Quit the Red Control application entirely, and launch the Hamel Reset app. Then re-open the Red Control application. This ensures that the RedNet R1 control interface has the proper settings.

    • You can press the A/B button on the RedNet R1 control interface to switch audio outputs. Only one audio output can be used at a time.

      • Type: Stereo on the output screen (right screen) indicates local speaker output

      • Type: TV on the output screen indicated TV speaker output.

      • The Output Level knob controls the output volume for the selected output.

    • If TV audio is not outputting, there is a small amplifier at the backside of the workstation in the cable tray. It can be rebooted via the power switch.

    • If local speakers are not outputting, check their power switches.
