Learn@UW/D2L - Transfer of Scores from Other Tools to the Gradebook
When scores are transferred from other tools to the gradebook, the percentage values, not point values are transferred.
Scores may be transferred to the gradebook from the Quizzing tool as quiz scores. Scores may also be transferred from the Dropbox or Discussion tools as assessment values awarded by the instructor. In all cases, the percentage values, not number of points, are transferred to the gradebook.
If a quiz score or assessment value is greater than 100% of the number of points the item is worth, however, 100% is transferred to the gradebook unless "Can Exceed" is set under Grading for the Grade item property.
Quiz scores may exceed 100% if there are bonus items. An instructor may award assessment values greater than 100% of the number of points the item is worth in the Dropbox and Discussion tools.
Negative quiz scores and assessment values are not allowed so negative values can never be transferred to the gradebook.
A quiz is worth 32 points total and it's associated grade item is worth 10 points. If a student achieves a score of 75% (24 points) on the quiz, 75% is transferred to the grade item for a score of 7.5 points.
A Dropbox folder assignment is worth 10 points and the associated grade item is worth 8 points. The instructor awards the student 11 points. If "Can Exceed" is set for the grade item, 110% is transferred to the grade item for a score of 8.8 points. Otherwise, 100% is transferred for a score 8 points.
