Peer Mentors

All incoming first-year and transfer students are assigned peer mentors, who are eager to support new students as they transition to life as a UW Law student. New students can expect to first hear from their peer mentors in mid-August.

Although students often need the most support as they embark on their law school careers, peer mentors are incredible resources well beyond Orientation. No question is too big or too small -- if you need support, contact your assigned peer mentors. If they cannot help you, they are trained to refer you to other Law School resources as appropriate. See Wellness Resources & Wellness Spaces for more information about these resources.

If you aren't sure who your peer mentor is, contact the Assistant Director of Student Life or the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

The peer mentor program is overseen by the Assistant Director of Student Life in collaboration with the Student Bar Association (SBA). The SBA oversees the application process for the peer mentor program -- the SBA typically solicits peer mentor applications over the summer via the student email listservs.
