This reference guide provides information for FDM (Foundation Data Model) maintenance, including:

Who
Department/Unit Initiators

- Gift, Program, Project Cost center
- Anyone can create or edit a gift, program, or project worktag or cost center within their cost center hierarchy in the FDM Maintenance tool.
- Anyone can update a driver or cost center manager or a PI (Principal Investigator) on a gift, program, or project worktag within their cost center hierarchy in the FDM Maintenance tool.
- Grant
- The “Grant Reviewer” role in RAMP can create or edit a grant worktag in RAMP, including cost center, function, and PI.
- When new grants are set up through RAMP, the “Grant Review” role can populate the driver manager on a grant worktag.
- If the driver manager on an established grant worktag needs to be changed, the Workday Role-Based Access Requester can submit the change in Workday through the “Add or Remove a Workday Security Role – Requester” process.
- The “Grant Reviewer” role in RAMP can create or edit a grant worktag in RAMP, including cost center, function, and PI.
- Gift, Program, Project Cost center
Department/Unit Approvers

- Gift, Program, Project, Cost Center
- Departments and large centers/institutes have one or more department approvers in the FDM Maintenance Tool. Approvals for all other units go directly to the Dean’s Office. Once a request is submitted, the approvers name(s) will be listed.
- Grant
- Your department/unit Grant Reviewer and SMPH Research Administration Office approves all changes made in RAMP to grant driver worktags.
- Your department/unit Role Based Access Requester can update a grant worktag manager on an established worktag in Workday.
- Gift, Program, Project, Cost Center
Obtaining Access
FDM Maintenance Tool
All UW employees have access to the FDM Maintenance Tool. An employee can only request edits to worktags within their own department/unit. To request a change to your department/unit approver, reach out to the Dean's Office- Fiscal Affairs (smphfiscal@med.wisc.edu).
Workday
If you need any security roles to complete this process, discuss with your next level leader. If approved, reach out to your department/unit’s Workday Role-Based Access Requester.
To check your security role access set up prior to Workday:

- Click on the Employee Lookup tab in Tableau.
- Enter your name in the legal name field.

To find your department/unit’s Workday Role-Based Access Requester:

- Go to your Workday profile and click "Job” in the left navigation menu.
- Click “Support Roles” in the top header.
- In the Assignable Role column, scroll to find the Role-Based Access Requester.

RAMP
To add a new Grant Reviewer the department/unit research administrator must email the SMPH Research Administration office.
