Current Students and Community Social Workers Looking for Summer Classes? The Summer Term is the place to find our summer course offerings. Need a Psychopathology Course for State Licensure? Both SW 612 and SW 712 meet the Wisconsin state requirements. The Summer Bridge Term is designed to help incoming students in the Full-Time and Part-Time MSW Programs meet the MSW program statistics prerequisite and to complete foundation course exemptions.

  • Social Work professionals may take courses as a “Special Student.” Special Students should consult with an advisor prior to enrolling in courses. Special Student tuition is the same rate as undergraduate tuition. Incoming Full-Time MSW Courses

All incoming Full-Time MSW students starting this fall must to complete the statistics prerequisite, if not satisfied by exemption, in the Summer Bridge Term as special students.

Incoming Advanced Standing Program students NOT exempt from SW 612 are strongly encouraged to take the course in the Summer Bridge PRIOR to starting advanced year courses in fall to avoid the burden of trying to complete additional courses on top of their regular course load during the academic year. Please consult with a Full-Time MSW Program advisor before enrolling.

Summer 2026- New Incoming Full-Time MSW Program Students

All summer 2026 courses are held in the DHH Session, June 15 – August 9, 2026
Incoming Full-Time MSW Program students complete Summer Bridge Term as Special Students (UNRS) preparing for graduate study

3 credits, ONLINE meets synchronously from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Incoming Full-Time MSW Program students starting fall can take Summer Bridge Term courses as a Special Student (UNRS). Special Student tuition is the same rate as undergraduate tuition. Click here to apply as a special student.
  • Follow the information and instructions for “Preparation for admission to graduate or professional school (UNRS).”

Incoming Part-Time MSW Program Courses

All incoming Part-Time MSW students starting this fall must complete the statistics prerequisite, if not satisfied by exemption, in the Summer Bridge Term as special students.

Finally, all incoming students are strongly encouraged to consult a Part-Time MSW Program Advisor BEFORE enrolling in any summer courses.
