Overview
The Application Development (App Dev) service line designs, builds, maintains, and enhances software solutions used across SMPH.
The team supports secure, scalable custom applications and system integrations that enable schoolwide research, education, clinical, and administrative workflows. App Dev also leads Project Catalyst, the school’s multi‑year initiative to standardize the software development lifecycle (SDLC), reduce technical debt, and modernize IIT’s development practices.

Services
Application Development provides support in the following high‑level areas:
- Access Requests – Request access to applications supported by the App Dev team.
- Application Support – Ask questions or request help for existing applications.
- Bug Reporting – Report issues or unexpected behavior in supported applications.
- Enhancements – Request updates or new functionality for existing applications.
- New Application Development – Request development of a brand‑new application to support SMPH workflows.

All App Dev requests should be submitted through the Application Development Portal (within SMPH Navigator).
