[HowTo] Genetics - Nanodrop instrument file retrieval
Document that describes the setup of the Nanodrop imager in room 4333
The Nanodrop is configured to save data to the Genetics Shared Drive, much the same way that the NuGenius plate reader does. To save to the Genetics Drive, once you have finished your experiment, under Export data, just select Genetics Drive:

This will put the data in the NanoDropOne folder on the Genetics Shared drive:

In the same manner as the NuGenius, everyone should move the saved data out of this shared folder ASAP - everyone has read-write access and it's possible for anyone at Genetics to potentially move or delete this data, so when your experiment is complete, just move the data from that directory to Research Drive where it's only accessible to your lab.
If you don't have the Genetics Shared Drive mapped on your computer, here are instructions to do that:
Mapping the Genetics Shared Drive:
- Ensure you're using the Genetics VPN, or are using a wired ethernet connection in the building
- Go to Explorer and right-click This PC > Map Network Drive
- Enter the path '\\genetics.drive.wisc.edu\genetics' and check the 'Connect using different credentials' box if you don't log into your computer with your NetID and password. If you do, leave the box unchecked:

- If you don't log into your computer with your NetID and password, enter your full NetID email address and password, and check the 'Remember me' box:
