Using the presentation system in Geography classroom CS 1370

How to use the presentation system in the Department of Geography classroom and teaching lab in Computer Sciences 1341 (formerly SH 380)

Overview

The Geography classroom/teaching lab, formerly located in Science Hall 380, is now located in Computer Sciences 1370. The presentation system in this classroom uses a TV cart with a ClickShare system. The instructions in this document will guide you through using the presentation system with the instructor workstation or by connecting a laptop.

Using the Instructor PC

To use the instructor PC next to the presentation system:

  1. Using the TV remote, power on the TV and set the input to HDMI 2.
  2. Log onto the instructor PC.

The instructor PC should duplicate the display onto the TV, so room occupants will see the same content you have on the monitor.

When you are done

Log off of the instructor PC and power off the TV.

Connecting a laptop

Connect To ClickShare

You will need to use the ClickShare system to connect a laptop on the TV. To do so:

  1. Power on the TV and set input to HDMI 1.
  2. Connect the ClickShare Button to your laptop. Wait for the ClickShare display to appear on the TV.
  3. On your laptop, browse to the ClickShare drive.
  4. Launch the ClickShare application (ClickShare_for_Windows or ClickShare_for_Mac).
  5. Wait for the LED ring on the ClickShare Button to turn static white, then click the Button to show your display on the TV. The LED ring on the Button will turn static red.
  6. You can click the Button again to stop showing your display on the screen (LED ring will turn static white).

When You Are Done

  1. If you have not already done so, stop showing your display by clicking the ClickShare Button (LED ring will turn static white).
  2. Disconnect the Button from your laptop.
  3. Power off the TV.
