KB User's Guide - News Tab - News Item Status
This document defines the different states of a News item.
Future News Items:
- Activation date in the future
- Expiration date in the future
- Does NOT appear in the News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
- Does NOT appear in the More News list (Click More News link at bottom of News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
- Only viewable in KB Admin Tools > News Tab
Active News Items:
- Activation date in the past
- Expiration date in the future
- Appear in the News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
Expired News Items:
- Activation date in the past
- Expiration date in the past
- Does NOT appear in the News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
- Appear in More News list (Click More News link at bottom of News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
Inactive News Items:
- Activation date in the past
- Expiration date in the past
- Do NOT appear in the News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
- Do NOT appear in the More News list (Click More News link at bottom of News and Announcements section in the Center/Content Module of KB Site
- Only viewable in KB Admin Tools > News Tab
Inactive upon expiration Checkbox
- Check this box to inactivate a news item when the news item expires
- Inactive news items will not appear in the the News and Announcements Center/Content Module or in the More News list.
- Inactive documents are viewable in KB Admin Tools > News Tab
To inactivate a news item
- Open news item in Editor ( KB Admin Tools > News Tab )
- Check the Inactive upon expiration checkbox
- Click Submit
- If document is already expired, the news item will immediately become inactive and will not appear in the News and Announcements Center/Content Module or in the More News list.
- Inactive documents are viewable in KB Admin Tools > News Tab
