InfoLabs - Frequently Asked Questions
The InfoLabs are a network of computer labs available to anyone holding a valid UW-Madison ID. This document attempts to answer some of the most frequently asked questions related to the InfoLabs.
How do I login to an InfoLab computer?

What locations have InfoLabs?
There is a list of InfoLabs available at Computer Lab Locations. Some departments may also have additional computer labs available to their departmental users. These departmental labs may have additional software or resources that aren't available in the general InfoLabs.
What software is available in the InfoLabs? Do you have Adobe Creative Suite? STATA? ArcGIS?
The InfoLabs maintain a list of standard software available at the InfoLabs locations. If you don't see the software you need on the list of available software, it is unlikely to be available. You can also check with whomever is supervising the InfoLab location you're at if you're uncertain whether a particular application is available.
What do I do if a computer or printer at the InfoLab is broken?
You should report problems with malfunctioning or broken computers or printers to the person supervising the InfoLab location. Some InfoLabs may also have directions posted for reporting problems. If you see such a notice, follow the directions given there.
Who can I contact if I need help with a program I'm using at the InfoLabs?
The DoIT Help Desk can assist with some applications such as Microsoft Office or with issues with supported campus web applications. More advanced issues/applications like Adobe Creative Suite are unsupported by the DoIT Help Desk. You may be able to ask the lab supervisor/monitor for assistance with some applications as well.
Can I check out equipment from the InfoLabs?
Some InfoLabs do provide equipment checkouts. Equipment can include laptops, projectors, and digital cameras depending on the location. For more information about checkouts, please see InfoLabs Equipment Checkout.
