The Visiting International Student Program (VISP) welcomes students interested in short-term credit and noncredit study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. VISP staff provide personalized advising as well as a variety of cultural and social events to help students feel welcome on our campus.

VISP credit students are fee-paying university special students who take courses across the university curriculum on a space-available basis as determined by the academic department. As with other university special students, they are administratively housed within and receive academic dean’s office services from the Division of Continuing Studies. Visiting international students enjoy all the benefits of degree students including student clubs, libraries, sports facilities, and other student support services.

VISP also offers noncredit programming for pre-college and university-level students.
