WiscVPN (Android) - Configuring the Native VPN Client

This document provides instructions on configuring WiscVPN for native VPN (IPSEC) clients. WiscVPN can be configured on some Android devices using the native VPN client

Android Native VPN Client Compatibility

Android 12 and above do not support the native configuration that WiscVPN uses. If your device's operating system was updated after 2021, it is likely incompatible.

The instructions below do not apply to all Android devices as native clients can vary widely between devices. Certain versions of the Android OS do not support native VPN connections. Additionally, device manufacturers and/or carriers occasionally replace Android's built-in VPN functionality with 3rd-party alternatives.

Please reference WiscVPN GlobalProtect (Android) - Installing, Connecting, and Uninstalling to use the GlobalProtect VPN app if your device is incompatible.

Note: The DoIT Help Desk provides limited support for VPN connections established through this method.
