Remote Checking of E-mail and Voicemail

When you are assigned to check the e-mail or voicemail for the office please follow these instructions:

Account Information

    Newstudent Account:
        E-mail: newstudent@studentlife.wisc.edu     Password: Usual password
        
    SOAR Account:
        E-mail: soar@studentlife.wisc.edu        Password: Usual password
    

Procedure

  1. You can check e-mail and voicemail through the WiscMail Plus System.  Go to: https://wiscmail.wisc.edu/mailplus Use the credentials provided above to check the accounts.
  2. Respond to messages and voicemails as appropriate.
  3. For messages that need to be address by OAs or other pro staff leave in the mailbox marked as unread (“Yellow Starburst”). Please respond to the message letting know someone will get back to them with a detailed response in a few days.
  4. For messages that need no additional follow-up. Please DELETE the voicemails – Delete from the voicemail system with the password above and expunge from notification message from the inbox. Please ARCHIVE the e-mails –Navigate to the menu on the left to the appropriate Year & Month. Drag and drop the message into the correct folder.
