Interviews, Focus Groups, Surveys, Questionnaires, Assessments

Question 1.1: Interview Tool Details

  • Only indicate that a tool is standardized and validated if the entire tool is recognized by the field of study.  Tools developed for a specific study, or which include only portions of a standardized, validated instrument, are not considered standardized, validated tools.  When standardized instruments are being used, the study will likely require additional review (expedited subcommittee or full reviews).
  • Provide the finalized tool to be implemented, as participants will see it.
Question 1.2: If cognitive or psychological status or function are being assessed as part of the study, the IRB will be looking for qualified study team member(s) to be administering the assessments.  A study including cognitive or psychological assessments will very likely require additional review (expedited subcommittee or full reviews).
