Web Hosting - Selecting a Domain
Primary Domain:
- Each Web Hosting account has a primary domain and an equivalent test site.
- When you apply for a web account, you will select the URL to use for your site. (For Example: yoursite.wisc.edu, where "yoursite" is a unique name and usually an abbreviation of your department, institution, etc.)
- New domains in the ".wisc.edu" domain space are subject to specific guidelines for approval. For more information, please see the DoIT DNS Name Selection Policy.
- Our service can also accommodate other non ".wisc.edu" domains such as ".wisconsin.edu", and .org's and .com's.

You can add additional domains to your Shared Hosting account based on your service level.
