FERPA Graduate School Admissions Guidelines
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) is a federal law that restricts certain enrolled student information from being publicly released. Students can designate restriction of public information not protected by FERPA. Although FERPA does not federally protect applicant information, the Graduate School chooses to follow the same guidelines whenever possible.
Information considered directory information is not restricted under FERPA. Please be aware that contact information (email, address and phone number) is considered directory information and is released, by the university, upon request unless students have restricted this information. Because applicants are not covered by FERPA they do not have the ability to restrict their directory information.
The university's information for faculty and staff regarding FERPA is available through the Registrar's Office.
