Wireless Printing for clinics
How to add the new wireless printers hosted on law-printserve
WINDOWS (7, 8, 10):
Note: you must be on the LAW wireless network or connected to Campus Global Protect VPN for the following steps to work.
Step 1: Open any explorer window and type "\\law-printserve.ad.wisc.edu" (without quotes) in the address bar and hit enter.
Step 2: Choose to login as a different user and provide your NetID credentials. Be sure to check the remember my credentials checkbox!
Note: You MUST put AD\ before your username as shown in the picture
Step 3: Double click the desired printer. It is typical for the installation to take several minutes, and it may pause at points appearing frozen, but with patience, usually succeeds.
Note: Jobs printed using this method will also come with a cover page with the users NetID printed on it.
|FJRC- HP Printer||WiFiFJRC|
|FJRC - Ricoh Copier||FJRC_Copier|
|EJI - Copier (Ricoh Machine)||EJI-WF-C|
Step 1: In system preferences, choose Printers & Scanners and click the + icon to add a new printer.
Step 2: If advanced options are not there, add them by right-clicking (or control+click) on the gray area next to the icons near the top of the Add window and choose Customize Toolbar..., then drag the advanced icon to the toolbar and click Done.
Step 3: Choose Windows printer via spools (or a similar option; may vary depending on OS version)
Step 4: after "smb://" add law-printserve.ad.wisc.edu/PRINTERNAME, where PRINTERNAME is the name of the printer as shown in the table above
For example, if adding the Remington Center printer it should look like this: smb://law-printserve.ad.wisc.edu/WiFiFJRC
Step 5: Enter your desired name for the printer in the name field
Step 6: Select Genereic PCL driver from the Use: dropdown list and click Add.
Step 7: Print something to the new printer, it will ask for a username and password. Use your NetID and NetID password (see below!). If you choose to "Remember this password in my keychain" you won't have to enter your credentials every time you print. Make sure and include the AD\ before your NetID.
