Microsoft 365 - Subscribe to Campus Events and Holidays

This document explains how to subscribe to Campus Events and Holidays on your Office 365 account.

Important: When you subscribe to an external calendar - campus event/holiday/sporting event (a non-Office 365 account), a new calendar will be created within your account. This data will be separate from your primary calendar.

Search for Calendar

The first step is to search for the calendar data to which you'd like to subscribe.

  1. Go to campus events calendar web site: http://www.today.wisc.edu/. Note: This page will not have a link to subscribe to. You will need to perform a search first.

  2. To search for a specific events, preform a text or tag search, in the search bar below the displayed calendar. A list of all matching events will be returned. Note: only events in the future will be returned.

Example - if you are looking for a listing of all future holidays (or when the university is closed), you can search for the following terms: "university offices closed".

  3. On the top right side, you will see a calendar icon, calendar_icon, labeled 'iCalendar file for this page'. Depending on the browser you are using, right-click on the image and select "Copy link location". "Copy shortcut", or "Copy link address".

  4. Use the address you copied to subscribe on your Office 365 account.

Subscribe to the calendar using an Outlook client

The next step is subscribe to the calendar data which you searched for and have a copy of the url from above. Note: It is recommended that you use Outlook on the web instructions in the doc linked below to subscribe to the calendar data. This calendar data will then automatically be consumed by any other client your use.
