KB User's Guide - Documents Tab - Cloning a Document with the "Save As..." Button

With the appropriate permissions, the Save As... button allows you to save an existing document as a brand new document, no matter the status of the original document.
  1. In the KB Admin Tools, open the document you wish to duplicate.

  2. At the top of the document, open the More menu, then select the Save As... option from the dropdown.

    • Note: You can also find the Save as... option under the Options menu of the document edit screen.
  3. A modal will open with three options:

    • Text only - Copies the following fields: Title, Keywords, Summary, Body, See Also, JavaScript/CSS, Activation, and Expiration.
    • Text + attachments - Copies everything in Text only plus any attachments.
    • All - Copies everything in Text + attachments plus all settings, excluding Custom/redirect URL and Group note.
  4. Once you make your desired selection, you will see a message stating the document you selected was saved as a new document (which will have the Draft status). From here, you may view or edit the new document as needed before proceeding to Publish it.
