Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Refresher Instructions

All personnel conducting research that meets the NIH definition of a clinical trial must have current Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training. Following initial completion, personnel must complete a refresher course every three years.

Personnel will be notified via email when their GCP training is expiring and refresher training is required. Expiration dates can be verified by using the Research Certification Lookup.

To access your GCP refresher training complete the following steps:
  1. Log in to your CITI account via the UW CITI Portal using your NetID and password.

  2. Make sure to access the course referenced in your reminder email.

  3. If the GCP course is missing from your Main Menu page, click on the "Add a Course or Update Learner Groups" link and ensure the appropriate GCP course is selected under question 3.

If you experience any difficulty, please contact the Office of Research Compliance at citisupport@research.wisc.edu or 608-262-1703. Support is provided Monday - Friday during normal business hours.
