IRB Member Guidance: Additional Considerations for IRB Review

This page addresses situations where the IRB may be asked to document additional determinations or findings based on the requirements of federal funding agencies.

Additional Requirements

Some federal agencies or other funding sources have additional requirements beyond that of the Common Rule that the IRB must document in the ARROW file as part of the approval process.  Generally, the IRB Staff Reviewer will ensure that IRB members are aware of the additional requirements and will ensure that the findings are documented in the ARROW file after committee review.
