Submit an event
To have an event included in GradConnections Weekly, add it to the graduate student events calendar using these instructions:
- Create an event on today.wisc.edu (in the top right, click Submit an Event to begin). Or, if you already created an event, proceed to the next step and edit your event accordingly.
- The first required tag is “GSPD” (it stands for Graduate Student Professional Development). This pulls the event into our Graduate School calendar.
- The second required tag should come from the following list corresponding to the facets of professional development in DiscoverPD. This adds the tag to the DiscoverPD database. Enter the tag(s) that best describe the aspect of professional development the event addresses.
- Inquiry, discovery, and creation
- Disciplinary expertise and interdisciplinary connections
- Leadership
- Career development
- Managing projects and people
- Communication
- Inclusion and diversity
- Personal and interpersonal effectiveness
- Optionally, if relevant, you may use the tags “teaching” and/or “outreach” that will add another filter criteria in the Graduate School events calendar and DiscoverPD.
Once the event appears (or updates with the added tags) in today.wisc.edu with both required tags mentioned above, it will automatically appear in the Grad events calendar and in the DiscoverPD database.
The Graduate School uses those calendar listings to include events GradConnections Weekly, so once your event is in the calendar and tagged GSPD, it will be included in the newsletter issue before it takes place. If you want to ensure it is included, you can also email gspd@grad.wisc.edu and include the link to your calendar event.
