ECMS - Testing Protocol for August 2026 ECMS/Imaging Update

This document explains the testing protocol expected of departments using the ECMS/Imaging System; click on each heading for details.

Why am I testing?

The Perceptive Content 26.1 update in August marks a key milestone in modernizing Perceptive Content, delivering a fully unified Titan application with functional parity to legacy clients. With enhanced capture and indexing, usability and performance improvements, strengthened security, and new connections to the Content Innovation Cloud, this release helps us work more efficiently today while laying the foundation for scalable, AI‑enabled content services. The update includes a large number of updates released (around one per month) since the last previous update six months prior, as well as product improvements. Testing needs to be performed to ensure that your department's business processes run smoothly as soon as the update is deployed. Please complete your testing by August 7.

How can I test?

I just need to test internal ImageNow/PC processes (workflow, viewing documents, etc.)

I need to test all aspects of my business processes, but not scanners

I need to test scanners

  • Use a dedicated workstation (desktop or laptop): This is the only way to test scanners. Do not use a workstation that is currently being used for the current version of Perceptive Content. It is recommended that the workstation be configured as other workstations in your department to ensure that things work with the group policy and other factors put in place by your departmental IT.
Confirm that the client is deployed correctly based on the method your department chooses to use:

I only use the web client to do my work

  • Test Titan: In the August update, Titan has been updated from v. 5.0.5 to v. 6.0.3. You should test to make sure that business processes accomplished in Titan still work as expected:

What am I testing?

Testing should include some or all of the following items depending on your department's business processes

  1. Entering Documents into Perceptive Content: Confirm that documents can be entered into the system via all that apply:
    • Scanning Documents
      • Capture Profiles and supporting Application Plans
      • Batch processing, if applicable
    • ImageNow Printer
      • Capture Profiles and supporting Application Plans
  2. Workflow: Confirm that iScripts and other queues function as expected. A document(s) should be submitted to workflow to confirm that it is processed correctly.
  3. Views: Confirm that document views created to access documents stored in Perceptive Content still function as expected.
  4. External Processes and Integrations:
    1. Confirm that processes for bulk capture/importing work. Confirm that external applications that use Imaging (e.g., XML data files or Integration Service/URLs for viewing documents) work.
    2. Test any integrations you have with other business systems and your Imaging implementation (e.g., SIS, Workday, etc.). Report any issues immediately to both the Imaging team and your support for your other business systems!
  5. Group Security/Permissions: Confirm that end users in the department are able to perform the functions that are expected of them (e.g. scanning/viewing/workflow).

Reporting test results

Test results should be submitted regardless of whether any issues were encountered
