Microsoft 365 - I can't find a message or a message was not delivered or received

This document will provide information on how to search for a message that you can't find or have reason to believe was not delivered.

Important:

  • There are many reasons why an email message might fail delivery to or from an external account (e.g. gmail.com, uwhealth.org, wisconsin.edu, etc). If you are conducting mission critical business via email we recommend requiring positive acknowledgment that a message was received and follow up by phone call if you don't receive that confirmation.
  • If any component of a message is determined to contain malware or link to a website that contains malware we will not deliver the message to the intended recipient. We also do not deliver messages that appear to be credential phishing or scams. Email that receives a spam rating but is not considered malicious may be delivered to the recipient’s Junk folder.
