Some users previously reported that if the browser window was not large enough they could not see the Add New or + button in Kaltura MediaSpace. In late 2019 the Kaltura system administrator activated the new version of the user interface which is more responsive to different browser sizes which resolved the issue.

Kaltura displays {"Error ["type":"networkError","details":"levelLoadError","fatal":true,"networkDetails":{} error when trying to play a video - privacy or ad-blocking software can cause issues

When viewing videos in Kaltura MediaSpace users who use lists of problematic hosts to modify their hosts file (etc/hosts in OSX or \Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts in Windows) from sites like StevenBlack/hosts may see a {"Error ["type":"networkError","details":"levelLoadError","fatal":true,"networkDetails":{} error message instead of the video:

To resolve this the user should remove Kaltura related sites from their hosts file. For example stats.kaltura.com, analytics.kaltura.com, cfvod.kaltura.com, and cdnapi.kaltura.com should not be redirected to 0.0.0.0. This issue was identified and resolved on 3/26/19.

Kaltura displays "Unknown uiConf[0]" error - privacy or ad-blocking software can cause issues

When viewing videos in Kaltura MediaSpace users who use ad blocking or privacy browser plugins (such as Ghostery) or extensions may see a Unknown uiConf[0] error message instead of the video:
A screenshot showing a Kaltura video loaded but instead of displaying the video it shows the error "Unknown uiConf [0]"
To resolve this the user should disable ad blocker or privacy extensions and try reloading the browser and Kaltura video. This issue was identified and resolved on 2/12/2019.

Interactive Video Quizzes (IVQs) do not display "Your Answer" and "Correct Answer"

When a viewer reviews their answers to a video quiz, the IVQ doesn't display which questions the student got correct or incorrect, and the fields "Your Answer" and "Correct Answer" are always blank. The student can also not see the "Hint" or "Why" text if it was provided. This issue was resolved on 9/21/2018.

Video quizzes do not work in channel playlists

When a viewer interacts with a video quiz in a channel playlist they are greeted with an error message. The error message is: "An error occurred, please refresh your browser and try again. If the error persists please contact your administrator." This message is displayed when the viewer clicks Continue after selecting a response. This issue was resolved on 9/21/2018.

Previewing embedded Kaltura media and Interactive Video Quizzes (IVQ) using Canvas's "Student View" function does not work

When an instructor uses the "Student View" function in Canvas to view a Page or Quiz with Kaltura media embedded using the Kaltura-->Canvas integration the instructor is presented with the message "Access Denied" or a blank space where the media should be.

The Kaltura-Canvas integration refers to inserting media in a Canvas Page using the starburst Kaltura icon (Kaltura starburst icon)in the rich text editor. Even though the instructor can't see the media using the "Student View" function the students will still be able to see the media. This will happens with media that is embedded using the Kaltura-Canvas integration outlined in Canvas - How to add or embed a video in your Canvas course using Kaltura Media (UW-Madison) .This issue was resolved on 08/27/2018.
