UW Law School Recording Policies
Base policies for recording Law School events.
Recording Policy (as of December 2017)
We have a new process for requesting video recordings. You can find the new request form at http://law.wisc.edu/help/restricted/video_form.html. Over the past year, new policy was developed on release forms and closed captioning. What you can expect:
Signed Release Form -- All events (with the exceptions of classes) will require a signed release from all presenters. The event organizer will be responsible for communicating with the speaker(s) and obtaining the signed release.
Closed Captioning -- All non-class events will require closed captioning to meet accessibility standards. A funding string will be required for the per minute cost associated with closed captioning. The IT Dept will work with 3play media to have video recordings closed captioned or a transcript for audio recordings. The IT Dept is available to provide usage statistics for evaluating the viewership of previous videos.
PLEASE NOTE: The IT Dept will record all requested events, however, the recording will not be available until a copy of signed release form(s) have been received and closed captioning is complete.
