WiscWeb - WordPress UW Theme - Embedding Social Media
This document will walk you through the process of embedding social media feeds into a text area of your website. There are two options for this: to embed using the 'Embed Content' page element or to paste the embed or iframe code into the source view of a Text Block.
Option 1: Embed Content Page Element
The Embed Content page element will allow you to paste a URL into the designated field. This will pull in social media content like a Twitter feed or a YouTube video.
- Navigate to the page you would like to add the content to.
- Click on the blue "Add Page Element" button and choose "Embed Content."
- In the "Enter URL" field, paste in the URL for the content you would like to share.
- If it is working, your content will populate in the large space below the URL. If not, please try adding into the source view of a text block (see below).
Option 2: Paste Code into Source View of Text Block
Another option for embedding content is to paste it into the source view or "Text" tab of the Text Block.
- Navigate to the page you would like to add the content to.
- If you don't already have a text block on that page that you can add this code to, click on the blue "Add Page Element" button and choose "Text Block."
- Switch from the Visual tab to the Text tab (top right corner of the text editor box).
- Locate the place where you would like this content to appear and paste in the entire <embed> or <iframe> code chunk.
