AWS - Finding a Canonical User ID
aws account canonical user id
Finding the AWS canonical user ID using the AWS management console typically requires logging in as the root user for an AWS account. Since UW-Madison restricts access to the root user for an AWS account, Amazon's documentation for finding the canonical user ID will not work.
Here is one shortcut to determine your canonical user ID:
- Sign In to the AWS Management Console
- Open the S3 console
- Select a bucket
- Click on the Permissions link
- Your canonical user ID can be found user the 'Access for your AWS account: Account' heading (e.g., 0123456789abcde0123456789abcde0123456789abcde0123456789abcde0123)
