Using the Repository of Administrative Dashboards and Reports (RADAR)
RADAR is the one-stop, central portal for exploring and locating UW-Madison’s administrative dashboards and reports. This KB article explains how to get the most out of RADAR and its multiple methods for finding dashboards or reports.
Search for a Specific Dashboard or Report
If you know part or all of the name, enter it in the Search box toward the top of the page. The Search box searches the dashboard and report names and returns relevant results.
Browse Dashboards or Reports
To browse the selection of dashboards or reports available, use any of the filters described below.
By default, dashboards and reports are listed in alphabetical order by Name unless the user executes a search. Users also have the option to sort by Newest First, which places dashboards and reports that were added most recently at the top of the list. Sorting by Newest First appeals to users who periodically check on particular categories of dashboards or reports relevant to them.
To narrow the dashboards and reports listed to a specific Data Domain, select an option from the Data Domain drop-down. Each dashboard or report can belong to one or more Data Domains. Data Domains are approved by the Data Stewardship Council and are subject to change.
To narrow the dashboards and reports listed to a specific type of dashboard or report, use the Type drop-down to select one of the options described below.
Some dashboards and reports are available to anyone, including members of the public. Others require authentication due to security, legal, or privacy concerns. A dashboard or report requiring authentication are denoted by the lock symbol next to its name. Some dashboards or reports are limited to specific access groups according to the Administrative Data Access Provisioning Policy. Other dashboards and reports are available only to a particular audience specified by the developer of the dashboard or report.
