If you have questions about a specific research project, please contact the research team. Contact information should be provided on the consent form or information provided to you by the research team.
If you are not satisfied by the response of the research team, have questions about your rights as a research participant, or concerns about a research project, please contact the ED/SBS IRB office using the information listed at the top of this page. Please note that the more information you can provide, the more easily the IRB office can help. Getting Help
- Phone/E-mail
If you are unable to reach us directly via phone, our recommendation is to send an email to set up a time to talk. Voicemail messages which do not include a clear name and contact information will likely not be returned. If you are inquiring about a protocol already submitted to the ED/SBS IRB in ARROW, please contact the assigned staff reviewer.
- Virtual Drop-in Hours
Have a quick question? Need help getting started? IRB Staff are happy to help!
Drop-in hours are Wednesdays 2-3pm and Thursdays 10-11am year-round. During this time you can call a member of the IRB Staff to provide you with personalized attention, with no appointment necessary. It is helpful if you have already completed the CITI human subjects research training and, if you know you will be completing an IRB application, at least have your application started in ARROW. Call us at the numbers above (as staff are working remotely and not physically at Lathrop Hall at this time).Individual appointments are available throughout the week. To schedule a virtual appointment, please contact one IRB staff member (this should be your assigned staff reviewer if you have already submitted your application). Again, it is helpful to have completed the CITI human subjects research training and, if you know you will be completing an IRB application, at least have your application stated in ARROW.
