Computer Sciences - Payroll: Rates - FY23 Graduate Salary Rates

This document provides information on the academic year 2023 Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA) and Program/Project Assistants (PA), and Reader/Grader salary rates. It is typical that most Computer Science graduate student appointments are TAs and RAs at 50% time appointments.

The 2022-23 rates for the Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Program/Project Assistant, and PA Grader Reader positions. These rates go into effect August 2022.

Research Assistant

$55,000 Tier 3

Teaching Assistant-Standard

Computer Sciences Academic 100% $46,454 (fixed rate)

Head Teaching Assistant-Standard

Computer Sciences Academic 100% $51,100 (fixed rate)*

* The department worked with the College of Letters and Sciences to make head TAs available to courses taught by Faculty Associates.  The idea is that you can identify a specific TA (1 per course) that you want to hire to help with course administration, hopefully but not necessarily for the whole year.  Head TAs are expected to have some different roles than Standard TAs, and in return earn higher pay.

Program/Project Assistant

Annual 100% $51,616 (minimum) - Hourly $24.82

Academic 100% $42,231 (minimum) - Hourly $27.07

Lecturer Student Assistant (LSA)

Academic 100% UNKNOWN

PA Grader Reader

Hourly Rate $22.22 (minimum)
