Android - Microsoft Office Visual Installation Guide

This document details the installation of office apps on Android for all students and faculty/staff.
Retired and Emeritus faculty are not eligible for this license. They are still able to purchase Microsoft 365 University provided they do not have an existing Microsoft 365 University account.


Note: This guide uses the Microsoft Word app, but the installation is the same for other apps such as Outlook, OneNote, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and OneDrive.

    1. To begin, search for the desired app in the Play Store. In this example, we'll use Microsoft Word. To download the app, click Install and sign in with your Play Store account if prompted.

    1. Next, find the app on your device and tap it to open the app.

    1. Upon opening the app, you'll see a Sign in button. Tap on it to sign in.

    1. On the next screen, type in your @wisc.edu formatted email address and tap Next. A NetID login screen should appear.

    1. Sign in with your NetID and password. Note: This is not your full email.

    1. Once logged in, you should see your recent documents page. The app is now set up.
