Microsoft Teams - Changing Notification Settings
By default, Microsoft Teams opts users in to receive emails about a variety of activities, such as new chat messages and direct @mentions. Changing these settings might be of use to cut down on the amount of Teams-related emails you receive.

Alter notification settings

• From here, you can change what aspects of Teams you will be notified about.
o “Banner and email”: You’ll receive an email, as well as a popup banner to notify you of this activity.
o “Banner”: You’ll receive a popup banner to notify you of this activity.
o “Only show in feed”: You won’t be directly notified of this activity, but will still see it in your activity feed within Teams.
• Banners will popup regardless of if you are currently in the Teams client.
