Scheduling Assistant to Starfish Transition Information
This document provides information on the transition from Scheduling Assistant to Starfish for advisors to use when scheduling times with students.
Scheduling Assistant, UW-Madison’s legacy system for student self-service scheduling with advisors and learning support staff, was decommissioned on June 30, 2019. A new system, Starfish, was implemented at the beginning of 2019 to replace Scheduling Assistant. Starfish allows academic advisors, career services staff, and learning support staff to make their advising appointment and drop-in availability accessible to students for self-service scheduling.
Over the course of Spring 2019, former Scheduling Assistant users were transitioned off that platform to Starfish. Beginning in Summer 2019 and continuing over the course of the 2019-2020 academic year, academic advising, career services, and learning support units that did not previously make use of Scheduling Assistant will be offered the opportunity to begin using Starfish for their student scheduling needs.
