Re-format HelioCampus AC exports of AAE Class Evaluations (TA)
Step 2 in compiling AAE TA class evaluations. Involves reformatting the results and putting in a PivotTable
** Be sure to complete Step 1 - Export AAE Results from HelioCampus AC before proceeding to this step **
** For TA Evaluations only - if processing Professor evaluations see Re-format HelioCampus AC exports of AAE Class Evaluations (Professor) **
- Remove the Top 8 rows of the results Excel document
- Rename Sheet1 to Raw
- Insert-->PivotTable
- Use the default range for the PivotTable - it SHOULD be the entire sheet/table
- In the PivotTable fields dialog, select Question
- Change the following questions to the indicated values:
Original Question New Question Overall, what is your assessment of the TA's knowledge of the material related to this course? Q06 - Class Organized Of those sections you have attended, what proportion were interesting and/or thought-provoking? Q07 - Sections Interesting How responsive and helpful did you find your TA during office hours? Q12 - Prof Helpful We know that how the instructor conducts the course often influences what a TA is able to do in a course. Given the instructor's role and the structure of this course, how would you evaluate your TA's performance? Q14 - Prof Quality - In the PivotTable fields, click the down arrow next to Question
- Click Sort A to Z
- In the PivotTable fields, click the down arrow next to Question again
- Uncheck any questions that don't start with Q - click OK
- In the PivotTable fields, check Course, Section, Instructor Evaluation, and Average
- Down below, drag Question into the Columns area.
- Be sure that Rows are in the order
- Course
- Section
- Instructor Evaluated
If not, click and drag them into the correct order. - Click the down arrow next to Sum of Average in the Values area and click Value Field Settings
- Select Max in the Summarize value field by and click OK
- If the Instructor Evaluated has "(blank)" included, in the PivotTable Fields click the down arrow next to Instructor Evaluated,scroll to (Blank) and uncheck it
- Right-click on any course subtotal (such as AAE 215: Total) and uncheck Subtotal Course
- Right-click on any Instructor subtotal (such as <NAME> Subtotal) and uncheck Subtotal Instructor Evaluated
- Click on the down arrow next to Course down in Rows. Click Field Settings
- Select the Layout & Print tab, and select Show item labels in tabular form and Repeat item labels. Click OK.
- Click on the down arrow next to Section down in Rows. Click Field Settings
- Select the Layout & Print tab, and select Show item labels in tabular form and Repeat item labels. Click OK.
- Right-click anywhere in the PivotTable, and select PivotTable Options
- On the Totals & Filters tab, uncheck both options under Grand Total
- Rename Sheet1 to PivotTable
- Add a New Sheet - rename it to Manual Table
- Highlight the entire PivotTable, EXCLUDING Max of Average and Question, select Copy (Ctrl +C)
- Go to the Manual Table sheet, and Paste Values
- Insert 2 columns between Section and Q06 - Enrollment and Responses
- Fill in the appropriate values for the enrollment and survey responses for each course/section. This information can be found in HelioCampus AC Course Evaluation Analysis Report Summary (where you originally exported the Excel file in Export AAE Results from HelioCampus AC )
- Insert 4 blank columns between Q07 and Q12
- Insert 1 blank column between Q12 and Q14
