Student accessibility & usability barriers

The following information is provided to help people with disabilities know what potential barriers may exist with Google Meets

Keyboard accessibility may be difficult for some users

There is a keyboard trap in Google Meets caused by opening the “meeting info” window. If the user is navigating via keyboard, they are unable to tab out of the window. A close function is unclear. Try using the “esc” button in order to close this window.

Chat function may be difficult to use for people who are colorblind or have low vision

The chat function in Google Meets has some text that fails color contrast accessibility and may be difficult to read for users who are blind or have low vision.
