Accessibility and usability barriers 

The following barriers are not a comprehensive list of all barriers that may be found in the Guide. Our team evaluates common user flows, looking for patterns of barriers. We do not evaluate the entire site. 

Screen reader barriers may make navigation difficult for users who are blind or have low vision

Throughout the site, content within tables is not always accessed via screen reader in the expected reading order. There is also content in tooltips that is not navigable via screen reader.

In addition, in-page navigation tabs on degree pages load new content but don't automatically move focus, making newly loaded content difficult to discover. 

Keyboard accessibility barriers interfere with navigation for users with motor disabilities 

The visual indication of keyboard focus is lost on some elements throughout the site, making it difficult for the user to follow keyboard focus. There is also content in tooltips that is not navigable via keyboard.

Magnification barriers may make content inaccessible to users with low vision

Content on the site does not always scale to fit the screen when magnified and may overlap or introduce horizontal scrolling.
