The meeting was called to order at 2:01 p.m.
The minutes of April 18 were approved.
General Reports
Albert Muniz, ASEC Chair, discussed the recent announcement of the next RISE initiative, RISE-EARTH. The budget approach Coordinating Committee met last week, at which the Tuition Task Force provided their findings.
Lesley Fisher, Interim Secretary of the Academic Staff, reported that she sent a call for nominations to all academic staff for the Chief of Police Search and Screen Committee. Ian Robertson recently announced that he will be stepping down as the dean of the College of Engineering.
Liaison Reports
Alissa Ewer reported that at their recent meeting, the Wisconsin Public Media CASI discussed the Central Compensation Fund and the accessibility project underway at Vilas Hall.
Donna Cole reported that the Secretary of the Academic Staff Search and Screen Committee completed first-round interviews. Donna also reported that the Ad Hoc Committee on Age in the Workplace is continuing to meet biweekly.

Provost Isbell provided updates on administrative searches. Finalists for the dean of the School of Education are currently visiting campus. The Search and Screen Committee for the dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health has been formed, and a chair named. The search process is beginning for a new vice chancellor for university relations.
A thought leaders group is considering what is needed related to RISE-AI. We also need to consider workforce implications internal to the university, and what educational opportunities may be needed for employees.
The provost discussed the complicated nature of managing the position cap.
Guest: LaVar Charleston, Chief Diversity Officer
Dr. Charleston provided an update on the work of the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA). DDEEA is thinking about areas for innovation, strategic communication, and how data is informing their decision-making. They have also been creating programs focused on engaging across difference.
Guest: Rob Cramer, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration
Vice Chancellor Cramer discussed the Workday implementation timeline. There have been a couple of events that have allowed employees to look at particular use cases in the test environment. The change readiness network is communicating to campus where we are in the process and what next steps will be. Additional user testing will occur this summer and general user trainings will occur next spring.
Vice Chancellor Cramer is hiring an assistant vice chancellor for enterprise applications. This is a new position that will oversee support for Workday going forward, as well as other systems such as ShopUW+.
The Administrative Quality Satisfaction Survey closes soon, and Vice Chancellor Cramer encouraged all employees to respond.
