The meeting was called to order at 2:01 p.m.

Guest: Sarah Mangelsdorf, Provost The Provost explained that the last campus strategic plan was developed in concert with reaccreditation. The basic goals were education experience, Wisconsin Idea, research and scholarship, our people and resource stewardship. The current strategic plan ends in 2014. Instead of completing a new strategic plan, it makes more sense to look at the existing document and alter and update it. In addition, progress made towards these goals needs to be documented. She encouraged ASEC to email Maury Cotter with any feedback.
Guest: Steve Cramer, Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning Steve explained the Educational Innovation has been a focal point of his efforts thus far. There are three goals for Educational Innovation that have been developed and should be completed in the next three years. They are: pivoting the student experience to pervasive active learning; building innovative professional Master’s-level degrees and other lifelong learning opportunities; and extending our educational mission with new technology and partnerships to Wisconsin and the world. There are nine projects in various stages that have been identified a part of the active learning goal.
