UW-Madison Academic Staff Assembly Resolution 
to honor University of Wisconsin System President 
Katharine C. Lyall upon her retirement

Whereas, Katharine C. Lyall, took many steps to strengthen the role of the academic staff during her tenure as President of the University of Wisconsin System from 1992 to 2004;

Whereas, She worked to advance the integration of the instructional academic staff into the life of the university;

Whereas, She welcomed the academic staff role in shared governance of the university;

Whereas, She often recognized the contributions of academic staff in her public statements, and

Whereas, She was steadfast in her resolve to provide an integrated compensation package for academic staff and faculty; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the UW-Madison Academic Staff Assembly hereby expresses its gratitude to Katharine Lyall for her service to the University of Wisconsin System and for her legacy of teamwork among all sectors of the university community and the State of Wisconsin.
