GDS - Clear Print Queue

This document explains how to delete a print job that is stuck in a printer queue.

Notes

  • Make sure that you have already set up the Print Management App with the dds-printserver configured. If you have not done so already, see GDS - Print Management Setup
  • If the following steps do not work, contact SEAM to have them restart the print spooler for whatever printer you're working on.

Procedure

  1. Open the 'Print Management' App by Running as Administrator with your OU account.

  2. On the left side column within the Print Management window, expand 'Print Servers' > 'dds-printserver.ad.wisc.edu', and then click on 'Printers'.

You will now be able to see the list of printers on the dds-printserver.

  3. Find the printer that you want to clear the stuck job from, right click on it, and select 'Open Printer Queue...'

  4. You should now be able to see the job that is stuck. Right click on this and select 'Cancel'.

Make sure that the status changes to 'Deleting' and that the job eventually disappears from the list.
