RSO-Software - QuickBooks
This document outlines how to install and configure QuickBooks for user computers.
QuickBooks is an accounting software that is primarily used by Student Print(SP), but some ASM staff have use for it as well. The licenses are kept by the staff, but the primary contact of whomever you are installing the software for should have a copy of it as well.
Notes
Make sure customer has following info on hand:
- License Number
- Product Number
- QuickBooks login information
Necessary Mapped Drives for SP: \\RSO-SP-014.doit.wisc.edu\Quickbooks Hosting
Necessary Permissions group: RSO - Student Print - QB - Share
If having database connection issues: run updates on QuickBooks with Admin rights
How to Set Up QuickBooks
- Navigate to \\rso.drive.wisc.edu\ASM\RaDS\Software Licenses\
- Copy the QuickBooksEnterprise20 setup application to the local computer
- Run the setup application with Admin rights
- Have user input the License and Product Keys to continue with installation
- select defaults for everything
- When prompted for a version to install, ask customer which one
- Student Print uses Enterprise Retail
- It might prompt for an update, run them
- Upon relaunching the program, click on "Open Existing Data File"
- In the window that pops up, navigate to the most recent QuickBooks file
- Student print's is located within the Necessary Mapped Drive
- Click open on the file and then a prompt for a login will appear
- Have user log in with their QuickBooks Credentials
- Note: A user can only have one instance of QuickBooks open at a time with any given login
- If Various data and spreadsheets are accessible, then the program is setup properly.
