Static VPN IP address removal procedure

There are two possible scenarios for a static VPN IP address to be released for reuse. Below are the steps for each scenario.

IP address has not been used for 1 year

  1. Once a month search for static vpn IP addresses that have not been used for the last year.
  2. Send a notice to the netid that is tied to the IP address and the person that requested it.  Instruct them to click on a link if they still wish to retain that IP address.
  3. If a request has not been made within one month to retain the IP address, remove the association between the netid and the static IP address.
  4. Send a notice to a yet to be created email list that says this list of static IP's have been removed once per month.

The associated netid has been deactivated

  1. Once a month search for deactivated netids.
  2. If a netid has been deactivated.  Remove the netid to static IP address association after 60 days.
