Departmental Support - RSO Support Agreement

Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) are campus sanctioned student organizations, managed by the Center for Leadership and Involvement (CFLI) which is part of the Division of Student Life. University policy requires that all campus student organizations be registered with the Center for Leadership and Involvement if they wish to use University facilities for publicity, meetings or events, or wish to associate their organization with the name of the University of Wisconsin- Madison. DoIT Departmental Support provides desktop support to funded RSO's during normal business hours (7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), as needed.  In addition, All RSO members receive Microsoft 365 support with the RSO.WISC.EDU email domain.  We instruct RSOs to email support@rso.wisc.edu for all requests (A WiscIT Ticket is automatically created and dispatched to the US-DS Desktop RSO Queue). Typically, Departmental Support Student Staff are responsible for all tickets and will respond within 24 hours of a request.

Also, all RSO groups can request a service account to  be created for thier org.  It will be added to the rso.wisc.edu domain.

Occasionally, RSOs will contact the DoIT Help Desk directly for desktop support or Microsoft 365 requests.  Agents can gather as much handling info as possible and can manually escalate the call to US-DS Desktop RSO.

Certain RSOs (Student Print and WSUM) require (and pay for) additional service, and can contact HDL2 for priority support.  If HDL2 is unable to resolve the issue they can dispatch the ticket to the US-DS Desktop RSO team and send call out in "Alerts" channel in the US-DS-GDS General Contract Microsoft Teams group (HDL2) or call the DS Supervisor if the issue is a priority.

Members of RSOs can still receive standard support by the DoIT Helpdesk through their affiliation with UW-Madison.
