Administrative AI Community of Practice
Overview
The Administrative AI Community of Practice is a Microsoft Teams space hosted by the Administrative AI Solutions (AAIS) team within the Division of Information Technology. It brings together UW-Madison staff in administrative units to share knowledge, questions, and experience related to applying AI at work.
The community is part of the broader AI for Enterprise program at UW-Madison and complements the formal governance intake process by providing a low-barrier space for ongoing peer learning.
Who it is for
Membership is open to any UW-Madison staff member with an interest in administrative AI. You may find the community useful if you are:
- Exploring how AI might support your team's work
- Piloting or already using an AI tool in an administrative context
- Preparing to submit a use case for governance review, or following up on one
- Curious about how peers in other units are approaching AI
The community is focused on administrative and enterprise applications such as HR, Finance, Facilities, and similar functions. Questions about academic, instructional, or accessibility technology are best directed to the partner teams responsible for those areas.
What you will find inside
- General discussion and Q&A channels
- Tool-specific channels for topics such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and Claude
- A space for sharing use cases, pilot results, and lessons learned
