Black Affairs Committee / ASM
Description
The Black Affairs Committee, is comprised of 15 individuals from the campus community, as follows:
- 1 representative from the Wisconsin Black Student Union (BSU);
- 1 representative from the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE);
- 1 representative from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC);
- 1 representative from AHANA MAPS (Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students);
- 1 representative from Sisters In Success (SIS);
- 1 representative from the African Student Association (ASA);
- 1 representative from the Black Student Pre-Law Association (BSLA);
- 1 representative from the Blk Power Coalition;
- 1 representative from Somali Student Association;
- 1 representative from the Caribbean Student Association;
- 1 representative from Ethiopian-Eritrean Student Association;
- 1 representative from the Black Psychology Student Association (BPSA);
- 1 representative from Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT);
- 4 at-large positions, open to any students not currently representing other listed organizations.
The committee meets regularly, with meetings open to all students, and submits reports to the ASM Student Council on a quarterly basis regarding the state of Black affairs on campus.
