ASM Statement on UW-Madison Chancellor-Designee Jennifer L. Mnookin
MADISON, WI — On Tuesday, the 17th of May 2022, the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin-Madison elected Jennifer L. Mnookin as the incoming chancellor of the university following the exit of current chancellor Rebecca Blank. Many members of the Associated Students of Madison body were involved with the chancellor screening process and have been pivotal to the choice made by the Board of Regents this past Tuesday.
ASM wishes the chancellor-designee a swift and harmonious transition into her new role, and looks forward to working with her administration in the upcoming year.
ASM hopes to continue to have a cordial and open relationship with the chancellor, as has been maintained over many years. We are passionate as an organization for collaboration between us and university administration, as we stand as one of the many representatives of student voices across campus. We hope that Dean Mnookin, as chancellor, can share in our goals to advocate for students at the highest level.
We look forward to meeting and working with the chancellor-designee soon and wish her well in this period of transition.
