ASM FY24 Budget Passes through Student Council and Student Services Finance Committee
MADISON, WI — This Wednesday, November 30th the Student Council met for the first in a series of two back to back weekly meetings before the upcoming Winter Intersession. On the agenda were items relating to the ASM Fiscal Year 24 Internal Budget, proposed updates to Student Council representative requirements, and more.
The ASM FY24 Internal Budget was passed; after it was approved and minimally adjusted by the Student Services Finance Committee. Updates to the FY24 Budget include reinstatement of the ASM Secretary as a paid role, allocations to allow for hybrid meeting capabilities at the Student Activities Center, and contract renewal for the Rape Crisis Center.
Additionally, amendments to the Section 3 ASM Bylaws, pertaining to requirements for Student Council members, were proposed by ASM Secretary AJ Butler. These amendments were introduced for the Council to consider over the coming weeks.
ASM ratified other “Old Business” including second passages on revoking membership from the University of Wisconsin System Student Government Association and corresponding discarded bylaw amendments. A second vote was also held for the official raising of all ASM wages to $15 an hour for the following ASM session; which passed.
The next Student Council meeting will be held next week, Wednesday the 7th of December at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Activities Center at 333 East Campus Mall.
